Vision

Vision January 9, 2017January 10, 2017Edit Do you ever feel like you are stuck in a rut? Spinning your wheels and going nowhere because you keep doing the same things, turning that old worn out tire over and over again. It just keeps spinning, digging you deeper and deeper into that muddy rut. Have you been there? I’ve been there in several areas of my life for a while now. It seems that in every bible study, sermon and women’s conference I am a part of, I hear the same messages from God confirming my callings and the things I should do to pursue them, yet here I sit still spinning. I have to ask myself why that is. The bible says in Proverbs 29:18 “Where there is no vision, the people perish.” Do I lack vision, I ponder? Maybe I have too many visions, allowing my true purposes of God to be clouded by my own desires and plans which then causes the rut of regret, busyness and complete exhaustion. If you are reading this and shaking your head with a raucous, “Amen sister I’m there with you,” I have good news for us! We don’t have to be in a rut anymore! If we are in Christ, we already have the power within us to stop the spinning, get out of the rut and move forward!!!! Christ is our power and our strength and we only need to fix our eyes on Him! I found the instructions for rut removal right in Hebrews 12:1-2: “let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.” We must begin by focusing on Jesus. I have started refocusing by making my visions visible. Using a cross shaped vision board and a glue stick, I have “nailed” my dreams, desires and callings to the cross to ensure that I see and pray over them daily, seeking God’s plans over my own. However we choose to take the first step, when we fix our eyes on Jesus, our vision will remain in focus and He will move us forward.
